Weekly Preparation in Small, Medium, and Large LA-Supported Courses

LA Programs at different institutions can support large classes, small classes, or a combination of small and large classes. A large class supported by LAs might, for example, have 20 LAs who assist instructors in the multiple sections of General Chemistry and work with a single coordinator, rather than the individual faculty for the course [See example video from CU Chemistry]. Midsized LA-supported classes might have a single faculty member with four or five LAs [See example video from CU Biology]. Small LA-supported classes may have a single faculty member working with a single LA or even two faculty members with a single LA [See example video from CSU Physical Science].
